POEM-PLATES
The plates were designed as a part of the project DESIGN-PRODUCE-SELL.
They were inspired by folk wall hangings which were supposed to greet family
members with cheerful sayings every morning at breakfast. Today when we are
so busy, we can often see something only if it gets pushed right in front of our
face. So I’m pushing right in front of your face the plates bearing two traditional
sayings related to eating: WHOEVER EATS THE LAST OF THE FOOD WILL BE
VERY PRETTY and EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. The design of the fonts which
are split like sauce all over the plate and therefore not readily legible is meant
to intrigue and encourage us to decipher the signage.
